  • What is the Department of Materials and Life Sciences?
    The Department of Materials and Life Sciences conducts scientific research on materials and life that exist in the natural world in order to create new materials, recycle natural resources, and develop new physical properties and functions. Students are exposed to different branches of learning, such as physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and materials engineering, in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary manner. Through this, they learn the basis of all materials, ranging from atoms/molecules to macromolecules/life, and use what they learn to promote the advancement of industries and protect the environment.
