The Department of Materials and Life Sciences conducts scientific research on materials and life that exist in the natural world in order to create new materials, recycle natural resources, and develop new physical properties and functions. Students learn a comprehensive fusion of existing academic fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and materials engineering. They learn the basics of material, from atoms and molecules to polymers and life. These will be useful for industrial advancement and environmental preservation.
