In order to meet the pressing needs of globalization, the Faculty of Science and Technology has launched the “Green Science Program (Department of Materials and Life Sciences)” and the “Green Engineering Program (Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences),” in which students can take classes and examinations, compile reports, receive research advice, and draft their undergraduate thesis in English and obtain an undergraduate degree. So far, students from over 20 countries and regions including Japan have enrolled in these programs. The Graduate School of Science and Technology has established the “Green Science and Engineering Division,” in which students receive their education in English. Sophia University believes that studying alongside foreign students in these English degree programs will nurture individuals who possess skills (global competency) for active participation in global society
