Our laboratory is dedicated to pioneering new possibilities in organic synthesis, with a focus on developing next-generation catalysts that leverage the unique electronic and coordination properties of lanthanide metals (such as cerium). In particular, we are concentrating our efforts on designing “auto-tandem catalytic reactions,” in which a single catalyst sequentially catalyzes multiple distinct chemical transformations. Furthermore, our long-term goal is to contribute to a sustainable society by establishing molecular conversion methods that reduce waste and conserve energy.
